Wang Jieyu (trade name: Meikyo Studio, "we" / "us"), as the operator of the self-reflection journaling and habit-tracking app "Shanlu" (the "App"), takes the protection of your personal information seriously and complies with applicable laws including the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (Japan) and the GDPR (EU).
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide
Email address (for account registration and login)
Nickname (optional, shown in-app only)
Reflection journal entries, check-in records, habit records
Date of birth (optional) — used only for the optional "Eastern personality lens" self-understanding feature; never used to predict the future
Contact details (only when you use customer support)
Credit card numbers (handled by Apple App Store on iOS)
Government ID numbers
Advertising tracking identifiers (we do not perform ad tracking)
2. How We Use Information
Generating daily reflection prompts, weekly reviews, and AI companion notes
Providing core features such as habit records and growth visualization
Improving the product and fixing bugs
Customer support and compliance with legal obligations
We never use your personal information for ad targeting, and we never sell it to third parties.
3. AI Processing (Important)
Features such as "AI companion" and "insight summaries" send your user content (e.g., reflection text) to an external AI service (DeepSeek API) over encrypted communication to generate responses.
The data is used only to generate responses; we remove directly identifying information (such as your name) where possible (anonymization).
AI-generated content is informational only and does not replace professional advice (medical, psychological, legal, financial).
If you do not wish to use AI features, you can avoid this transmission by not using them.

5. Data Storage
Records and check-in data are stored primarily on your device.
Only if you enable account sync are they uploaded, encrypted, to servers we manage.
Server retention: during the life of your account + complete deletion within 30 days after account closure.

Delete your account and all data (available in-app; full deletion within 30 days)
Withdraw consent (turn off sync / stop using AI features)

7. Minors
The App is not directed to children under 13. In the EU/EEA, users under 16 should use it with the consent of a parent or guardian.
