Thank you for using the self-reflection journaling and habit-tracking app "Shanlu" (the "App"). These Terms are a legal agreement between you and the operator, Wang Jieyu (trade name: Meikyo Studio, "we" / "us"). By using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to all of these Terms.
1. The Service
The App is a tool for self-reflection and habit-building inspired by Eastern wisdom.
Reflection through daily prompts and a reflection journal
Check-ins (a record of daily deeds) and habit support
Weekly reviews and growth visualization
AI-assisted companion notes
An optional "Eastern personality lens" based on date of birth (a self-understanding aid)
The App is not a fortune-telling or prediction service and does not predict or guarantee any future outcome.
2. Important Notice
⚠️ All content provided by the App (AI-generated notes, reflection prompts, summaries, etc.) is informational, intended for self-reflection and personal growth, and does not constitute medical, legal, financial, or psychotherapeutic advice.
Health/mental concerns: consult a physician or licensed clinical psychologist
Legal matters: consult a lawyer
Investment/financial decisions: consult a qualified professional
You are solely responsible for any decisions you make in reliance on the App's content.
3. Accounts
Provide accurate information
Keep your account and password secure
One account per Apple ID
Accounts violating these Terms may be suspended
4. Paid Services (Subscriptions)
iOS app: in-app purchase via the Apple App Store (pricing and refund policy per Apple's display)
Subscriptions renew automatically (monthly/annually) unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
You may cancel anytime in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the next renewal date; amounts already paid are non-refundable.
If you cancel during a free trial, no charge is incurred.
5. Prohibited Conduct
Uploading illegal, false, or malicious content
Fraud, threats, harassment, or other unlawful/improper use
Decompiling or reverse engineering
Commercial resale (without written permission)
Impersonating others
6. Intellectual Property
The App's source code, design, content, and brand belong to us.
Content you post (e.g., reflection entries) belongs to you, but you grant us a minimal, non-exclusive license necessary to provide and improve the service.
AI-generated content is for your personal use only and may not be resold commercially.
7. Changes & Termination
We may modify, suspend, or terminate part or all of the service.
Material changes will be announced in advance.
You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:
Outcomes of decisions made in reliance on AI-generated content
Interruptions of third-party services (DeepSeek API, Apple App Store, etc.)
Force majeure (natural disasters, war, network outages, etc.)
Losses due to your own causes (password leakage, account sharing, etc.)
Our maximum liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the preceding 12 months.
9. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan.
Disputes will be resolved through negotiation; failing that, the Tokyo Summary Court shall have exclusive agreed jurisdiction for the first instance.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms.
Material changes will be announced via in-app notice.
Continued use constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
